Benefits of Nitrogen
Nitrogen is vital to all forms of life. In plants it is important because it forms a key component of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is what gives plants their green colour; it works by absorbing light energy, which is then used to create sugars using water (drawn from the roots) and carbon dioxide (gathered from the air). Nitrogen forms a key component of amino acids (which are the building blocks for proteins), and it also forms part of the ATP molecule (adenosine triphosphate), which facilitates energy transfer at a cellular level. Nitrogen is so important that, without an adequate supply, your plants will never reach their full potential.
